The Sanjay Gandhi National Park, previously known as the Borivali National Park is an ideal spot for picnics and weekend getaways. Visitors from all over come here to spot Flying fox, Kingfisher, Leopards, Lions, Macaques, Boars, Sunbirds and a significant number of butterflies here. Kanheri caves are more than two thousand years old and are a major tourist attraction inside the park premises. The park houses more than hundred species of flora and more than five hundred species of fauna and is well-known for its bird population, evergreen dense forests, butterflies, and the small population of tigers.
